Monstera adansonii, often called the Swiss Cheese Plant, is a striking tropical vine native to Central and South America. Its signature feature is its heart-shaped, glossy green leaves, which develop unique holes—called fenestrations—as the plant matures. These natural cutouts are what give it the "Swiss cheese" nickname.
As a houseplant, Monstera adansonii is versatile: let it climb a support pole for a dramatic vertical display, or allow it to trail gracefully from a hanging basket. In the home, it typically reaches between 3 and 8 feet tall. Each plant is shipped in a 4-inch nursery pot.
